MEDIA FACTORY developed an interesting application for Vodafone to be used on the social network Twitter.
The Vodafone Twitter Chat supports communication with the operator's current and potential customers and other Twitter users. Together with Facebook and the company blog, Vodafone also uses this microblogging platform for open communication with customers.
The Twitter application designed and created by MEDIA FACTORY resembles an "on-line chat with a celebrity" but it is aimed at Twitter users only. A registered Twitter user can ask questions in a pre-defined form which are sent to the application's administrative interface. On March 3, 2010, the pre-defined form for chat with Vodafone vice-presidents was @Vodafone_CZ-c- followed by a particular question.
These redirected questions can be answered in several easy steps with the application. Sent answers are shown on Twitter and on a Vodafone website. The application helps to utilize Twitter potential, facilitates its control and enables to distinguish various topics of a conversation. Answers can even exceed the standard Twitter limitation - 140 characters, which is almost necessary for an interview.
Twitter, originally intended as an SMS microblog, is now one of the most visited social networks. It holds the third position after Facebook and MySpace. There are more and more active users each day. Their number has grown by 1500 percent by the end of February and there are more than 70 000 registered applications on Twitter. The possibility of enhancing the basic service with various applications makes Twitter a suitable place for future useful interfaces development. The Vodafone Twitter Chat by MEDIA FACTORY is without a doubt one of them.
